On Sunday November 1, 2009, the Kagawa International Festival 2009 was held at I-PAL Kagawa and at Chuo Park.  Thank you to all of the many people who attended the event despite the unfortunate rain.

 

The Kagawa Prefecture International Exchange Association is planning more events for which people can interact under the theme of "Friends, Interaction, Completing the Circle!"  We look forward to your continued participation!

★  First held in 1995, if you count the years, this year's International Festival makes 15.
Going back to the origin, we're providing a place where foreign residents and locals of Kagawa can interact.


★As a way to participate and gain new experiences, our staff has prepared this event together to "connect more than ever and to have more fun than ever."

★There is a new lawn in Chuo Park as of this summer. We hope you will look forward to the sports events that will be held on the new grass!

★In the shade under Chuo Park's trees and in I-PAL Kagawa you can experience all kinds of events.
You can also experience craft making events and take your crafts home as a memory of the event.

★"We hope everyone that attends and everyone in connection with the festival will work together and try something new."
That was the theme from the first festival.
"Do you want to try that?" "Shall we try?" "Hey, let's try together!"
Anyone can easily "try," so come to the International Festival and lend us your strength.

]]> New and Transfer JET Programme Participants "The Way of Tea" Experience tag:www.i-pal.or.jp,2009:/en//9.1411 2009-08-20T05:16:48Z 2009-12-14T06:31:24Z After attending a welcome ceremony with ... i-pal http://www.i-pal.or.jp After attending a welcome ceremony with the Kagawa Governor Manabe, the 9 new Kagawa ALTs and 1 transfer CIR participated in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, also known as "The Way of Tea," at the Chujo Cultural Foundation tearoom near IPAL. ]]> After meeting the instructors and special guests for the event, the ALTs and CIR from America, Canada, and Scotland listened to an explanation of the history and process of Japanese tea ceremony.  Then they made and drank green tea. Finally, everyone took a tour of the tearoom gardens and traditional buildings. 

 

It was a great cultural event as well as a good way to relax after a long, busy day.
