The Circle of Life (3) Jizo
Shikoku treasures through a pilgrim's eyes. The 88-Temple Circuit
I am a Happy jizo
Can you feel the warmth of a cold stone face?
Jizo to Konomineji
Up the mountain I climbed,
While beads of sweat tumbled down.
There they sat the two all alone,
On a rocky stage all to their own.
Jizo Janken
With time on the hands,
Janken,rock-scissors-paper
A dull moment not.
Jizo Choir
Like Sirens of lore,
They enchant passers-by.
A mystic harmony,
Theirs is but a silent song.
On the Edge at Tairyuji
Perched high up above
In swirling winds,
On the edge with empty eyes,
His vista paramount.
Jizo Talent
Not much larger than a coin,
This little stone
Has a grand affect.
Jizo and the Cola
Coca Cola and a hat dusted with snow,
Hands bare a heavy load.
Wrapped in the Heart Sutra
There are no obstacles,
Yet everything stands in the way.
Form is of no matter
As this is the Truth about "Nothing."
Face at Konomineji
Exuding pride this is but stone
What is the source of his strength?
I am not carved nor am I stone
But strong is what I can be.
Temple Wan-chan
At last, a dog that didn't bark and try to eat me.
Konomineji Jizo
Before flowing letters,
A rock's Serenity.
The Marble Reflection
Along the Pilgrim's Path, did you meet the Daishi?
Yes, Everyday.
The Concrete Palette
In a world of gray,
This yellow spot -
Much like the Henro Michi.
Windmill Walk
Round and round -
Colors ablaze with icy heat
As spring winds softly bite
- a mill's tender journey.
Marking the Way
A white sticker on a post,
The little red figure attracts my eye.
Not knowing where I am
I am never really lost.
The Way
A view of 88 that most never see,
This is where the heart is.
Unique Henro Michi Sign
Expressing the HENRO,
Michi signs depict more than just derection.
Henromiti
High in the mountains
On a dark and narrow path,
In all of Shikoku
The lone English sign.
Help That Grows on Trees
A remainder that you are not alone,
Is always a welcome sight.
Black Sign in a Bamboo Wood
Imprints of leaves etched on a post,
Burnt by the rays of the sun -
Black is the sign and white are the words,
Green is the trail I trot.
Stone to Konomineji
That way to PEZ!
Whatever helps to ease the mind
is good enough for me.
Henro Signs on Ohki no Hama
Where I am going is of no matter -
In the end,
It's the way in which I tread.
