The 3rd Shikoku 88-Temple Circuit Experience (May 16th)
We followed the "Shikoku no Michi" (Shikoku Path) stretching between Nagaoji Temple and Okuboji Temple. The weather was unstable but it didn't rain hard until the end of the event.
For the event this time, we broadened our recruiting efforts and sent invitations to the members of the embassies that participated in the Ambassadors' Study Tour held last year in Kagawa and to the members of APEC. Mr. Allan Mburu, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, and his wife took part in the event (pictured at center). The leftmost person is Chris, one of our staff.

A priest from Nagaoji Temple (second from the left) talked about the history of Nagaoji Temple and the pilgrimage.

Mr. Katagiri, Assistant Director of the Culture Promotion Division explained how to pay a visit to a temple.

The party heading to the Ohenro Koryu Salon (Pilgrimage Exchange Salon)

After lunch at the Ohenro Koryu Salon, we followed the path crossing over the mountains. The path got steeper and steeper...

...And steeper! After this, we followed the route passing over Nyotaizan Mountain. The gap between the people in the front of the pack and those in the rear opened up, and I couldn't afford the time to take pictures at that point.

All the participants must have seen this scenery from the top of Nyotaizan Mountain. We could see Maeyama Dam, situated near the Ohenro Koryu Salon (our lunch spot), far off in the distance.

At the lookout point on the way from Nyotaizan Mountain to Okuboji Temple

We took a group picture of all the participants at Okuboji Temple.
