JET Participants, who were newly appointed or who had a change of appointment during July and August, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor. They were invited through the JET Programme for the purpose of promoting international exchange and enhancing foreign language education for Kagawa Prefecture.

After the Governor's greeting, Mr. Robert Insley (seated far left below), who belongs to the Prefectural B.O.E., made a speech on behalf of the participants.

Then, each participant talked about his/her hopes for the coming year. There were many among the new participants who were good at speaking Japanese this year.

When the Governor asked them what kind of sports they would like to try, they answered they would try Kyudo (Japanese archery), fishing, Yoga and handicrafts. The Governor gave them information about Kagawa, such as the young yellowtail farming and Kagari-Temari (Kagawa's decorative handicraft balls made with colorful threads) for which the prefecture is famous.
