Mexican Food Experience at Kawahigashi Elementary by Jeremy Lanig

As part of a PTA event for students and their parents, I visited Kagahigashi elementary school and made soft tacos with everyone. Everyone had a lot of fun, and after making 48 soft tacos, we all ate until we were stuffed.
The lesson began with greetings in English and then in Spanish! After that, I talked about Mexican food and the ingredients used such as black beans, cheese, rice, tortillas, salsa, and hot peppers. Then everyone worked in groups to make delicious soft tacos filled with pork, Mexican rice, yellow cheddar cheese, and salsa. We said "Itadakimasu" and then ate the soft tacos with chips and salsa.

After everyone was finished eating, there was a 10 minute question time and students and parents asked lots of questions about Mexican food, American culture, and me. At the end of the lesson we took a photo with everyone.
