KJ200607: Summer in Sanuki (1/3)

Drought : Even among the prefectures that lie on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea, Kagawa Prefecture is a region with many days of fair weather and little rain.

Since the olden days, there have been concerns of water shortage due to drought. A rainy season during which there is no rainfall is called“kara-tsuyu”, or dry rainy season. When this happens and the water level in Shikoku’s Sameura Dam falls, water supply may be

stopped throughout the night or during the day. It is important to conserve water on a regular basis.
