On the second day, the participants went to Teshima and Naoshima to observe the environment-related facilities there.

The participants met with a member of the Citizen's Conference on Teshima's Waste Measures at the Teshima Kokoro Meseum.

jenesys_3.jpgThey then heard an explanation of the details of the illegal industrial waste dumping incident on the island, form the incident's first occurrence up through the interim agreement between the prefecture and the citizens.

 

 

 

jenesys_4.jpgThe participants made an observation of the high tenperature drainage water processing facility and the intermediate storage and paking facilities on Teshima. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The participants made an observation at the Naoshima Environment Center and the Mitsubishi Materials' valuable metals recycling facilities.

jenesys_5.jpgIn a question and answer session following the observation, the participants asked many questions, such as those regarding the cost of industrial waste processing,etc.
