2009 Kagawa International Festival: Stamp Rally, Kids Crafts, and Photography by Jeremy Lanig
Although it rained on the day of the 2009 Kagawa International Festival, there were plenty of fun things to do through out the day. I represented America during the international stamp rally, made colorful "hand turkeys" drawings with kids at the craft corner, and, of course, I took lots of photos throughout the day.
The children's stamp rally was a great way
for kids to collect stickers of flags from all around the world and have their
name writing in different languages. At
the craft corner I was in charge of teaching about American thanksgiving and
the fine art of "hand turkeys." Drawing "hand
turkeys" by tracing your hand on paper and then coloring eyes, beak, and
feathers is a common elementary school craft in America .
There were some very colorful turkeys
spotted in IPAL during the International Festival
Between these activities I was busy trying different foods from around the world, trying on traditional samurai armor and talking with people from all over the world. It was a great day and I can't wait for next year's event.
