Angel Road Halloween Party! by Jeremy Lanig
Four Coordinators of International Relations (CIR)
from Kagawa and 5 Oversea Technical Trainees (OTT), and other foreign residents
of Kagawa went to Shodoshima to help with and participate in an international
Halloween party on Shodoshima's famous Angel Road . Everyone wore great costumes, and Chris
McCabe (CIR) gave an explanation of Halloween to all the children and
participants at the party in Japanese.
There was a costume contest and many people won prizes for wearing interesting costumes. The winner was a woman from Shodoshima with the costume "Fantasy Balloons," a giant cluster of colorful balloons. The grand prize was a round trip ticket to Korea.
Finally there was live music and performances by various groups. Elementary school children sang Halloween songs, and a band played fun songs while everyone danced. It was a happy Halloween!
