KJ200707: The Japanese Language Proficiency Test

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

Aimed at those whose first language is not Japanese, the JLPT is a test intended to gauge Japanese ability. It is administered both locally and overseas once a year, and is divided into four levels(1kyuu through4kyuu,1being “most proficient”).

Test day: December 2(Sun),2007
Location: Kagawa Prefecture administers the test as well ; this year’s facility has not yet been
determined

Application procedure:
(1)The application form is available from July 2nd for 500yen at most bookstores.
(2)application fee:5500yen
(3)application period : July 2 through September11 (postmarked)
(4)test voucher sent : November1

Test contents:
Each level of the test is divided into three portions : kanji and vocabulary, listening, reading and grammar.
