Though the Kagawa International Festival 2011 was held on a cloudy day, we
were very pleased to welcome a large number of people to the festivities.

Counting from the first festival in 1995, this year's international festival is number 17.

Continuing from last year, we're creating a place where foreigners living in Kagawa and Kagawa Citizens can share friendship.

Lectures and Talk Show Relating to Disaster Prevention

A great opportunity to think about disaster prevention and a peaceful lifestyle as you listen to lectures from disaster prevention worker and a talk show featuring a Rwandan resident of Fukushima Prefecture who actually experienced the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.

Look, Participate, Experience: It's time to think about disaster prevention!

3rd Floor South Meeting Rooms

Participate in the Sugoroku Natural Disaster Mock Evacuation Quiz, which will help you understand what it is like to evacuate during an actual disaster.  Also try your hand at making eco-bags out of newspaper and doing coloring pictures with themes related to disaster prevention.  Let's enjoy learning about disaster prevention and alleviation!

Chuo Park

On the grass area of Chuo Park, you can experience what an earthquake actually feels like in our earthquake simulation vehicle, and you can experience making homemade stretchers and filling sandbags used for flood prevention.

Mini-Sports Zone (Chuo Park)

Miniature Sports Day!

Enjoy eco-bowling, tama-ire, bread eating races, and much more!

Sales and Exhibition Zone (3rd Floor Meeting Rooms, 1st Floor I-PAL Plaza)

Photo exhibitions featuring the work of Kagawa's various international exchange organizations and booths selling various goods from abroad will be set up in these locations.  You can also enjoy participating in many mini-workshops.

 

Japanese Cultural Experience Zone (Basement Library)

              Enjoy cultural activities, such as our Wasanbon Sugar Making Workshop.

Food and Drink Zone (I-PAL Entrance Square)

              All the flavors of the world!

We will have food from China, Korea, France, the U.S. and many other countries, including powdered green tea from Japan.

              Japanese 12-Layer Kimono and Samurai Armor Experience Corner

                            The General Information Center will also be in this area

 

International Cooperation Project Zone (3rd Floor Meeting Rooms)

              Kagawa's International Cooperation Project Organizations will be presenting              together at I-PAL.

There will be tons of events to experience here, including the Fair Trade Café, Folk Costume Experiences, World Culture Experience Workshops, Lao Picture Book Making, and much more.  Enjoy engaging in exchange with people from all over the world!
